About the Author: Sandy Hoffman
"I build worlds from broken glass and burning pages. I write horror because it’s the only language I know that doesn’t flinch."
Sandy Hoffman is the creator and author of The Unraveling Series™, a transmedia psychological horror project rooted in trauma, silence, and emotional survival. As a screenwriter, survivor, and myth-weaver, her work has recently earned international recognition for its devastating realism and symbolic depth.
Sandy is the founder of Unraveling Horror Enterprises LLC, a registered trademarked brand. She writes to reckon with truth, not to entertain.
To hold up a mirror.
And to survive.
What is The Unraveling Series™
The Unraveling Series™ is a haunting collection of psychological horror stories, screenplays, and symbolic visuals that chronicle the hidden aftermath of abuse in all its forms. It spans across digital publications, short films, merchandise, and future full-length screenplays.
Each tale functions as a memory trap, twisting everyday objects, spaces, and relationships into reflections of horror, guilt, and human consequence.
This is not fantasy.
This is reckoning, rendered in shadow.
"Some houses breathe in silence. Others whisper lies."

The Visual Mythology of The Unraveling Series™
This series is more than horror. It is visual mythology, rooted in suppressed memory and behavioral psychology. The following archetypes and motifs are core to the mythos:
-
The Fractured One
No longer a gentle bringer of dreams, the Sandman is reimagined as a threat, one who robs the eyes, silencing perception, and rendering victims unable to see the truth.
-
Eyes and Blindness
Loss of sight is a metaphor for forced denial, willful ignorance, or the trauma-born inability to process what was done. Glassy, hollow eyes. Cracked mirrors. Reflections that don’t obey.
-
Emptiness and Silence
Hallways without footsteps. Rooms without echoes. Silence becomes its own malevolent entity, a presence that bears witness to violence without intervention.
-
Distorted Perception
Objects shift. Walls breathe. Reality bends. Visual metaphors for gaslighting and identity collapse are omnipresent.
-
Objects and Control
Hands are stitched. Threads pull from the shadows. Toys, bracelets, and heirlooms all become tools of manipulation. The mundane turns monstrous.
-
Liminal Spaces
Hospitals. Bathrooms. Corridors. Playgrounds. Transitional spaces haunt the series, representing fractured identity, memory distortion, and unprocessed grief.
-
Archetypal Figures
The Unseen: The entity of voiceless witness, embodying exposure and reckoning. The creator's own eyes.
The Unheard: A symbolic force for all cries that have never been believed. The creator's silence.
The Woman Who Endured: The survivor. The beating heart of the series represents the creator and her true-life experiences, written as psychological horror.
"Reality doesn't crack. It peels. Slowly. Quietly. Until all that's left is the echo."
